Mr. Shaker is a seasoned executive with over 45 years of progressive experience in the field of banking and finance. With a BSc in Economics from Cairo University and having undertaken majorexecutive training programs with prominent international banks, he successfully navigated diverse markets such as London, Cairo, Bahrain, Kuwait and North Africa.

During his career Mr. Shaker has held key leadership positions in Egypt, notably serving as Chairman & Managing Director of some banks such as the National Bank for Development, Agriculture Bank of Egypt and Egyptian Gulf Bank where his strategic leadership played a pivotal role in successful restructuring efforts. In 2014 he participated in establishing one of the major Leasing companies in Egypt.

Between 2020 and 2023 Mr. Shaker assumed the position of CEO and Managing Director of the Egyptian Exchange Holding Company and the newly established Egyptian Mercantile Exchange.
